Birth

Hello and God bless you from Peter and Rebekah Laue, Stretcher Bearers for Christ, Pagosa Springs, Colorado.

We have good news. Another baby has been born. We want to place this picture of our newborn infant into your hands. The painting of “The Gates of Hell Shall Not Prevail” was birthed through the hands of Rebekah, Christmas, 1996. Who is this baby? It is the wounded Healer and Deliverer come to set the captives free.

Our hearts are burdened for those behind bars; whether these bars are made of twisted thoughts and emotions or steel. We have been in those places. Now love and the memory of our own pain and those left behind compel us to reach out to others.

Alone, no one can reach these prisoners. Our arms are too short, our hearts are too small, our resources too few and the need is too great. But together, with Christ in our midst and in our hearts, we can touch these men, women and even children.

We ask you now, “Would you like to adopt our baby and make it part of your life? Would you like to help care for it, watch it grow and see it multiply through you?”

We have pledged our talents and resources to create this painting and print pictures; but without names and addresses, without words from caring hearts, they have little or no value. Cause them to come alive lest this baby be stillborn. Let the Holy Spirit suggest a name - someone behind bars. Then send or bring these pictures to them with words of Life from the heart of God.

Anyone can adopt our baby and become a stretcher bearer by simply placing their own address label across our address. In so doing you will become another stretcher bearer, because you will receive and reply to the letters that are written. You may also ask us to send this birth announcement to others in your name, but especially to those who have a prison ministry. A larger picture (14” by 18”) of our baby is also available.

May the Lord forge these words into chain-breaking letters. "Lord, empty our jails and mental institutions, two very different kinds of prisons, and populate heaven." That is our prayer.

From two caring hearts,

"The Gates of Hell
    Shall Not Prevail"

by Rebekah Laue
We are in prison or have been in prisons of our own making, THAT'S THE TRUTH!

We are free or behind bars (mental, emotional or physical), because of the choices we have made. THAT'S THE TRUTH!

We have all surrendered at times to fear, anger, pride, rebellion, unbelief, unforgiveness, religious shackles, enslaving habits, and other jailers. THAT'S THE TRUTH!

Jesus has unlocked the gate to our own personal hell; but we must respond (act) by opening the door and walking out. We must choose to refuse our jailers. THAT'S THE TRUTH!

Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are my disciples. Then you will know the TRUTH and the TRUTH shall set you free.” John 8:31-32 HE'S THE TRUTH!

It is written and it is true, “He sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them who are bound.” Isaiah 61:1. And that is the purpose of this picture painted through the hands of the artist Rebekah Laue.

Prints, postcards and note cards may be requested via Stretcher Bearers for Christ.
